Job Description Summary:

Our team works cross-functionally to make sure PayPal is maximizing its relationship across the payment ecosystem players, including networks, acquirers, processors, financial institutions and other partners. We provide sound financial analysis and business insights that serve as thought partners across product, legal, business, and sales team to make sure PayPal is driving winning outcomes across payment partners.

Job Description:

What you need to know about the role:

This role will work on understanding the payment eco-system and work on analytics and reporting tied with the eco-system. The individual will work alongside with business, product, sales, finance, and other teams to drive key impact of payment partners.  Primary goal would be to understand how the transaction expense trends are by different Processors, Acquirers, Networks and Issuers by different regions (30+ partners across all areas). Develop reporting and monitoring for KPIs in the eco-system model and create business cases for commercial discussions with payment partners.

Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of payments and fintech, analytical, ability to use large datasets to drive information for a broad audience. Contribute to negotiations and the ability to navigate complex commercial models (pricing, optimization, etc). We’re looking for a strong individual contributor who can take on complex problem statements, collaborate across the company to build KPIs, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.

• Influence payment partnership team and other cross-functional teams in thinking through complex business models of extending impact of payment partners.

• Build financial & analytical nuances across the dimensions of transaction expense, products, and markets to find opportunities to maximize.

• Opportunity to learn workings of payments business & how to monetize/optimize products expense of an innovative.

Your day to day:

• Become a domain expert in PayPal Payments and conduct rigorous data analysis to help improve transaction expense and understand eco-system performance.

• Lead financial analysis on new business initiatives to understand and prioritize opportunities.

• Provide analytical support and insights on eco-system related changes to enable informed decision making.

• Develop reporting and monitor KPIs for the Eco-system (Network, Acquirers, Processors & Issuers).

• Manage contract reporting and socialize with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Support leadership in constructing compelling arguments and negotiating tactics that will create winning commercial outcomes.

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within business, product, finance, and other functional teams. Engage in the cadence/process of interactions, be a team player, and a positive influence on others.

What you need to bring:

• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant work experience in finance, payments, strategic pricing, banking, business development, research experience.

• An understanding of payments product & technology is preferred and will go a long way in the success of this role.

• Fluent in Excel or ability to learn quickly on the job; experience with a statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python), and/or web analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics)

• Experience with data aggregation using SQL (Teradata, Bigquery, MySQL or PHP), flat file or json payload handling through programmatic code, ETL tools (Informatica) or database experience.

• Prior experience in visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlikview etc.

• Ability to grasp the nuances of the next generation of product / commercial solutions.

• Strong experience in navigating through complex pricing/monetization and financial models and the ability to build negotiating tactics / insights.

• Support leadership in synthesizing highly complicated / nuanced ideas and communicating them in ways others can easily understand (both oral and written)

• Versatility in navigating a complex & matrixed corporate environment while juggling multiple responsibilities. A collaborative mindset is essential.

• Highly dependable, with ability to drive things to conclusion in a dynamic and fast-paced organization.

• Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.

• Exhibit the highest standards of integrity and be pleasant & fun to work with.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$43400 to $111980
