The Data Operations & Integration Manager will support R1’s mission to accelerate and maximize value to our clients by leading a team of Data Stewards directly responsible for implementing new client data feeds into our Data Platform and service line applications across Revenue Performance Solutions (Hospital Underpayments, DRG Validation, Charge Capture), as well as monitoring and supporting existing client data feeds and stakeholder requests (including tasks such as identifying and understanding trends in our client data, troubleshooting data quality and pipeline execution, creating reporting for internal stakeholders, and performing ad hoc research for functional counterparts). This role will report to the Director of Data Operations & Integration and be responsible for their team’s workflow and development.

Essential Responsibilities

· Oversee and manage team of Data Stewards and Data Steward Specialists responsible for a portfolio of new or existing client data feeds

· Collaborate with Directors and fellow Managers in Data Operations & Integration to set and communicate team priorities, and ensure team is supported and resourced appropriately to achieve productivity targets and balance business needs with team needs

· Act as a role model and coach team members in R1’s core values. Establish a culture of teamwork that balances individual initiatives with collective accomplishments; develop a team environment in which members participate, cooperate with and support each other. Hold team members accountable to performance expectations

· Enable successful client data implementations - acquiring data, importing data, validating data, and getting the system ready for go live - with particular focus on strategic and/or complex clients, managing deliverables to timelines. Ensure successful ongoing client data feeds by monitoring imports, identifying patterns, and mitigating risks to data flow and process.

· Communicate with client IT/data contacts to collaboratively work towards extracts that meet R1’s data specification.

· Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to collaboratively strategize how to best enable client data to meet technical or operational needs. Act as a liaison/representative

for the team to build trust and generate buy-in with leadership counterparts; understand and adapt to changing business operations and priorities.

· Apply a deep understanding of healthcare data to solve complex problems or streamline processes for internal and external stakeholders.

· Influence internal and external stakeholder decisions by interpreting and presenting outcomes of research/analysis and current state to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to adjust communication style to cater messaging to a variety of audiences

· Partner with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot IT issues and design future state tooling by leveraging knowledge of technical needs, business impacts and process pain points/opportunities.

· Seek opportunities to drive process improvements and increase efficiency of team’s operations with critical thinking and openness to new technologies/techniques

· Own integral team initiatives and processes and be a change leader for the Data Operations team as a whole

Skills

· 5+ years’ experience querying, validating, and analyzing data in SQL or a similar language (preferred, or Excel/MS Access experience may suffice). 

· 5+ years’ experience in a client facing role (serving internal or external customers) 

· 3-5+ years’ experience having difficult conversations with stakeholders (internal or external) 

· 5+ years’ experience working with healthcare revenue cycle data. Strong understanding of Revenue Cycle Operations within a Hospital/Physician setting and/or demonstrated, relevant domain knowledge 

· Demonstrated strong communication and leadership capabilities; the successful candidate will exhibit judgment in adjusting communication style and effectively motivate the team to achieve desired results.

· Contributes optimism and perseverance to their team: approaches problems with curiosity and drive to find new solutions

· Excellent time management, organizational, and professional skills

Other Qualifications

· Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, Internet, and email) required.

· Experience with SSIS, ADF, Spark SQL, and/or Couchbase a strong plus 

· Experience with CDP, CloudmedAI and/or Cloudmed 1.0 Optimization Suite applications

· Experience with healthcare data (like 835/837 data)

· Project management experience for client data implementations 

· Creative thinker excited about innovation

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $93,244.00 - $152,065.42 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
