Primary Purpose

The Technical Lead will serve as the technical expert responsible for design and implementation of Customer Data Platform solution gathering valuable insights on various data sets, performing data analytics and building data solutions to enhance the Customer Data Platform. You will be responsible for verifying requirements, defining technical architecture when necessary, analyzing and enriching data, developing an implementation solution, providing thought leadership for all solutions related to Customer Data Platform that meet and exceed customer expectations. You will also provide direction to developers overseeing the development, unit testing and documentation for the developed solution and develop strong customer relationships for ongoing business. For success in this role, you will be experienced with the Cloud-based Customer Data Platform, Software Development Life Cycle (including both Agile & Waterfall), Data Engineering, MDM, ETL tools/platforms and data modeling practices.

This is a hybrid role based out of our headquarters in Newton, MA.

Major Functions/Responsibilities

  • Be a data expert in understanding the data estate and its interdependencies
  • Leading the technical team in all technical aspects.
  • Expected to engage with Business stakeholders & aligning others to your ideas & solutions.
  • Clarify/translate customer requirements into Epics/Stories & remove ambiguity.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to the team’s technical team members.
  • Design, develop and implement robust and extensible ETL solutions to support data warehouse integrations and transformations using CDI/CAI services on IDMC platform, PowerShell.
  • Partner with business and subject matter experts to identify, document & design based on the business requirements, functional specs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and ability to apply the SDLC to existing and future development initiatives.
  • Responsible for estimating, planning, and managing the user stories, tasks and reports on Agile Projects.
  • Ability to present to groups of mixed technical ability.
  • Focus on the improvement of the overall performance for all data integration process, SQL Queries and Scripts.
  • Configure and manage the schedule of the data integration jobs.
  • Develop advanced SQL Procedures, Functions and SQL jobs.
  • Support exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics.
  • Develop data integrations between internal and external/third party sources.
  • Develop technical solutions using Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or Azure Synapse architecture.
  • Participate in the development of corporate-wide strategies, processes, and standards for data architecture, storage, and reporting.

Decision Making Authority

  • This position needs to possess the ability to act quickly with independent thinking and sound judgment.
  • Works under the direction of data architect or manager of data analytics.
  • Ability to make required and immediate decisions on his/her own and escalate complex issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field experience required.
  • 8+ years Data Engineering / Data Lake Architecture and Development
  • 5+ years Data Modeling & Architecture
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL queries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Customer Data Platform, Microsoft Dynamics Customer Insights, Dynamics CRM & Salesforce Marketing Systems highly preferred
  • Master Data Management highly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with any ETL Integration tools like IDMC, Informatica PowerCenter etc.,
  • In depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Azure Cloud platform and services like Azure Synapse connectors.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading a technical team with a size of at least 4 people.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management principles and best practices, including data governance, data quality, data hygiene and data integration.
  • Demonstrated experience with various Flow Automation technologies.
  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing all phases of the project life cycle, including running project prioritization meetings, post-installation project post-mortem meetings and a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaboration with both onshore and offshore development teams
