Software Engineer

Title: Software Engineer

About this role:

Rackner is seeking a Software Engineer to build R&D technology, working directly with our CTO.

We are looking for experience with:

• 3+ years with Python
• Expertise in deploying containerized software in a cloud environment (such as AWS)
• 3+ years of experience in fine-tuning and deploying machine learning models (e.g. XGBoost)

Requirements:

• Willing to travel up to two weeks at a time, several times per year to talk to customers (first event is March 31 to April 11 in Las Vegas)
• Remote role, with occasional on-site work in Rackner office to collaborate with Rackner’s CTO
• Self starter, able to build software alone and meet deadlines
• Willing to talk to users by traveling to where they are located, learning about their needs
• Lives in Washington DC, San Antonio, or Boston metro areas
• Eligible for a secret clearance

Preferred Experience:

• Subject Matter Expertise in building python software & leveraging machine learning models in production 
• 2+ years as a technical lead, able to both lead technical direction for a program, as well as doing hands on software development hands on
• Experience working with the US Air Force, or similar complex mission environments
