About The Opportunity

The pricing manager reports to the StudentUniverse EVP.   The pricing manager will be focused on optimizing pricing on a per route, airline and ancillary basis in order to grow sales and margins;  the manager will develop replicable pricing strategies based on sound analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting market research to surface opportunities
  • Monitor StudentUniverse pricing for non-students and students to validate competitiveness of product by market, route and airline
  • Monitor competitiveness of ancillary products and coordinate with marketing and product suppliers to increase competitiveness and profitibility
  • Developing and manually testing pricing strategies based on sound
    data analysis
  • Writing automation prototypes based on successful strategies
  • Working with the development team to productionize successful
    prototypes
  • Reporting on past performance and outlining future plans

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in pricing, data analysis, or similar role
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages
  • Strong understanding of business, economics, and business intelligence
  • Experience in eCommerce or the travel industry (airline or hotel revenue management preferred)
  • Consulting analyst experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively
  • Self-motivated, driven, and proactive
  • Flexible and able to work independently

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $125,000. Base salary is dependent on relevant factors, including experience, geographic location, and job requirements.
