Data Science Internship

Simulmedia is looking for talented and motivated Data Science interns to join our team in Kyiv or Lviv, Ukraine. This paid internship program provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced advertising technology industry. As a Data Science intern, you will work on developing and optimizing machine learning models, maintaining existing solutions, and conducting data analysis to drive insights for real-world applications.
Our company has offices in Kyiv and Lviv. The Data Science team is primarily based in Kyiv and works remotely, with occasional in-person team meetings in the office.  Duration●     3-6 months (May 2025 - October 2025)●     Part-time position (20 hours per week) Location●     Kyiv or Lviv, Ukraine●     Remote work with the option to visit the office What You'll Do●      Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to extract meaningful insights●      Build, train, and evaluate Machine Learning models●      Maintain existing models●      Develop data pipelines and ensure efficient data processing●      Create analytical reports and visualize findings for stakeholders●      Collaborate with engineers and product teams to integrate models into production What You'll Learn●      Data preprocessing techniques, feature engineering, model building and evaluation●      Advanced data visualization and reporting methodologies●      How to present analytical results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences●      Best practices in version control and collaboration using Git/GitHub●      Interaction with product and sales teams to formalize Data Science tasks●      Exposure to Big Data technologies and cloud computing solutions Qualifications●      Strong knowledge of Python and core libraries for Data Analysis, Visualization, and Machine Learning (e.g., pandas, numpy, scipy, matplotlib, scikit-learn)●      Understanding of fundamental Machine Learning concepts: regression, classification, clustering, and artificial neural networks●      Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control●      Basic knowledge of higher mathematics and statistics●      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills●      Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)●      Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications●      Experience with Big Data analysis methodologies●      Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, Athena, EMR)●      Hands-on experience with Tableau●      Knowledge of SQL and database querying
