Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data, Analytics, and Integrations (DAI), this newly created role is ideal for a hands-on leader passionate about driving data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This individual will lead a small dynamic team focused on business intelligence and enterprise data analytics to delivering platforms and solutions that enable Quaker Houghton colleagues to derive insights for effective business decisions and improved operational and financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include partnering with other areas of Digital Information Technology (DIT) aligned with business functions to shape the data and analytics offerings, building robust reporting solutions, ensuring data quality and BI governance, leading the creation of an enterprise-wide data driven culture. This role will oversee the operational and project related activities related to BI and Advanced Analytics, ensuring alignment to DIT’s operating processes and compliance expectations. As a coach and mentor this individual will develop team capabilities while championing the value and realization of business intelligence and analytics solutions across our global organization.

Additionally, this role leads the development of advanced analytic capabilities, including AI, Machine Learning, and Predictive Modeling to support the organization’s continuous improvement and inform critical strategic decisions.

The Manager Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics must bring a strong data engineering background and mindset to data and analytical methods, to build data solutions that are highly scalable, flexible, innovative, and unique to Quaker Houghton’s transformation and digital goals.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for business intelligence and advanced analytics operations, project delivery, and effective team performance
  • Oversee team performance management including but not limited to hiring, coaching, development, recognition, performance reviews to ensure staff productivity and engagement and fostering a high-performing, innovative team culture.
  • Design, deliver, and maintain reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that drive data-informed decision-making
  • Serve as an SME across the organization for data-related solutions (program design, report design, data feed design, data aggregation, etc.)
  • Partner with Data & Integration Architect to modernize the data stack using contemporary architecture that are foundational to organizational AI readiness and associated capabilities
  • Collaborate with Business Technology Solutions (BTS) teams to translate Analytics and AI opportunities into actionable projects and initiatives, driving the technology execution and realization within the DAI team
  • Anticipate and plan future needs in technology, talent, budget, and business processes designing proactive solutions to meet evolving needs
  • Manage and prioritize the data/report demand, ensuring timely tracking, approval and delivery aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Develop, enforce and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure meeting quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements
  • Create technical documentation with source to target mapping including detailed transformational logics
  • Establish and monitor organizational KPIs and measures, driving visibility, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Ensure adherence to DIT processes and service levels, actively managing the team’s workload and project timelines to maximize value delivery
  • Perform and document audits regularly according to company policies. Report findings to management and correct all data-related audit findings in a timely manner and complete necessary documentation
  • Ensure timely and quality resolution of user issues
  • Keep abreast of new technologies for the purpose of recommending changes in existing programs or new programs warranted by such developments
  • Perform other duties as required to support the evolving needs of the business.

Education, Minimum Qualifications, & Skills:

  • High School diploma at a minimum, with strong relevant and comparable experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in designing, developing, testing and implementation of business intelligence solutions, ideally in the Microsoft BI stack with Power BI
  • 5+ years’ designing business analytics solutions using data science tools and coding techniques in Python, Plotly, Dash, Streamlit, R Studio, R Shiny, Jupyter Notebooks, JavaScript
  • Recent working knowledge of AI & ML model, Natural Language Processing and MLOps management
  • 5+ years of team, project and people management
  • 3+ years of Azure or AWS cloud services and data ecosystem exposure
