The Role and The team
The Global Insight Department sits centrally within Fremantle and supports all parts of the business by providing insight into TV show performance, audience sentiment, and broader industry trends. The team analyses how content is received, its value to broadcasters and streamers, and emerging patterns in audience behaviour. We also conduct primary research and industry analysis to ensure Fremantle remains at the forefront of the entertainment landscape.
This is an exciting new role within the Data & Analytics team of Global Insight, offering a fantastic opportunity to shape how we visualise and communicate data across the business. As a Data Analyst (Visualisation), you will be responsible for developing compelling dashboards and reports, using internal and external performance data, to support decision-making at all levels.
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented analyst with strong Power BI expertise, and a keen eye for data storytelling. You will be a key player in enhancing how we present data, making complex information accessible and impactful for a diverse range of stakeholders across the global business. And, beyond the numbers, we’re passionate about TV and film, and we love discussing how data helps shape the stories that audiences connect with worldwide
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to expert for data visualisation across the department, ensuring clarity and usability in all reports and dashboards.
- Design and maintain high-quality dashboards using Power BI, working closely with Business Support functions to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Transform complex data from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights through effective visual storytelling.
- Enhance audience reporting to align with Fremantle’s wider Digital Transformation strategy.
- Gather feedback from end users and implement continuous improvements to dashboards and reports.
- Work with large and complex datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all visualisations.
- Develop automated reporting solutions, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide data-driven insights that inform key business decisions.
- Stay up to date with best practices in data visualisation and dashboard design, proactively applying new techniques.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with Power BI (preferred) or other dashboarding tools such as Tableau.
- Proven ability to design intuitive and visually compelling dashboards that effectively communicate insights.
- Advanced DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex calculations and measures.
- Ability to build interactive dashboards, reports, and custom visuals using Power BI themes. (Exposure to PowerApps is desirable)
- Proficiency in Power BI Data Modeling, including relationships, calculated columns, and aggregations.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
- Expertise in Power Query (M language) for data transformation. Solid analytical skills, with experience in working with large datasets from different sources.
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data.
- Experience working with TV, streaming, social media, or audience data is a plus.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in SQL, Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus.
- A qualification in data analysis, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data manipulation and PowerPoint for storytelling.
