 Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Associate Level:
    • Collaborate with IT teams to document data inventory configurations and define basic data processes.
    • Assist in the development of automated ETL processes and work to ensure reliable data transformations.
    • Contribute to design reviews and assist in the planning of integration and validation processes.
    • Begin developing technical documentation and supporting tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
    • Learn and grow in the enterprise data environment, gaining exposure to best practices.
  • Mid-Level (Data Engineer):
    • Lead efforts to define and document data configurations, technologies, and interfaces between data sources.
    • Independently build and optimize automated ETL processes.
    • Contribute to the evaluation of system effectiveness and propose improvements.
    • Take on more responsibility in guiding enterprise project integration, planning, and validation.
    • Mentor less-experienced engineers and assist in solving technical challenges.
    • Stay updated on new technologies and share knowledge across teams.
  • Senior Level:
    • Take ownership of complex data models and contribute to both strategic and technical decisions.
    • Lead the design and implementation of advanced automated ETL processes.
    • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, guiding them through problem-solving and skill development.
    • Actively influence the direction of data-related technologies and processes across the organization.
    • Spearhead the development of coding standards, development policies, and best practices.
    • Lead design reviews and ensure the successful implementation of data models and integrations.

 

Core Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate Level:

    • Required:
      • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, OR
      • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4+ years of IT experience.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric and basic technical communication tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
    • Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and contribute to problem-solving.
  • Mid-Level:
    • Required:
      • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, OR
      • Associate’s degree with 6+ years of IT experience, OR
      • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 12+ years of IT experience.
    • 2+ years of experience with data warehouses, data mashups, and enterprise IT environments.
    • Demonstrated ability to independently solve problems and improve systems.
    • Experience with technical documentation and effective communication across teams.
  • Senior Level:
    • Required:
      • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, OR
      • Associate’s degree with 6+ years of IT experience, OR
      • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 12+ years of IT experience.
    • 4+ years of experience with data warehouses, enterprise IT environments, and data mashups.
    • Proven leadership in mentoring, guiding teams, and contributing to strategic decisions.
    • Expertise with Microsoft Fabric, complex data modeling, and integration planning.

 

Preferred Qualifications (All Levels):

  • Experience with Cloud Services (e.g., Microsoft Azure), SAP HANA.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like C#, .Net, Python, Scala, PowerShell, or SQL.
  • For Senior Level: Leadership experience in mentoring junior engineers and guiding projects in Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
