About the role:

The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will lead a team of data engineers and architects in a multi-cloud environment. This role will be responsible for the success of the team in delivering data services, reporting and analytics solutions which support Colliers’ regional and enterprise business objectives. 

  • Lead and manage a mix of data professionals which may include data engineering, data science, Business intelligence, AI and data architect professionals by providing people management, mentorship, guidance and planning support.

  • Explain data environment, functions and to technical and non-technical users and stakeholders as required

  • Oversee the development activities associated with the delivery of a modern data platform which may include micro services, data services, integration services, ingestion pipelines, data governance, AI capabilities, analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities as required

  • Work with your team, IT leaders, product managers and business leaders in defining roadmaps and approaches to meet organizational strategic and tactical objectives

  • Oversee the operations around data engineering including SDLC, CI/CD, code quality and code compliance and security

  • Oversee third level product support by ensuring incidents are managed and actioned effectively and within agreed SLA.

 What you bring:

  • Minimum of 8 Years of progressive experience in Data Delivery roles

  • Minimum of 3 years people managing data delivery/engineering resources

  • Degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at the SME level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals

  • Proven experience building micro and/or data services

  • Experience developing and architecting solutions in a multi-cloud environment with GCP and Azure data technologies

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): High Proficiency in GCP services such as Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud Data Fusion, Cloud Run and Apogee.

  • Azure Data platform: Knowledge of Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Microsoft API Management

  • Knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes, particularly with GKE

  • Knowledge of PowerBI and Looker Visualization and reporting capabilities

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for backlog management and CI/CD using Terraform
