Our Role:

As PGIM Japan’s business has been evolving and expanding in both width and breadth of clientele as well as product range, we are looking for a motivated and bright individual like you to fulfill a unique opportunity within our dynamic environment. Our technology group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon under new senior leadership. We are looking for you to align with our development team in evolving our platform and programs to new architecture and migrate legacy applications. You will have a proven background in building complex, full-stack applications in Java/Python and JavaScript on Angular/React, AWS, Azure, SQL. Your Impact:

  • Develop and maintain new and existing applications natively on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) within an Agile framework.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Business Analyst to assess business needs and transform them into scalable and maintainable applications
  • Build and maintain ETL codes to manage data from various sources, including web-based sources, internal/external databases, and flat files, in heterogeneous data formats (binary, ASCII).
  • Develop powerful user interfaces using common JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React).
  • Design and support an effective data management framework for the storage, permission, and retrieval of large internal and external datasets.
  • Evaluate the impact of scaling up and scaling out to ensure sustained data management and delivery performance.
  • Build interfaces to support evolving and new applications, accommodating new data sources and types.
  • Actively transfer system, business, and domain knowledge within and outside the team.
  • Collaborate with local and global Technology Solutions Group teams.

Your Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing core financial systems using Core Java and/or Python.
  • At least 4 years of experience in developing web applications using Angular/React and other JavaScript libraries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OOJS and Vanilla concepts. Experience in building application from scratch with good architecture understanding.
  • Experience with transactional databases such as MS SQL, Aurora Postgres, Azure SQL, Sybase, etc.
  • Direct experience in supporting front office and back-office end-users (PM, Quant, Risk, Reporting, Operations), with a thorough understanding of the Asset Management business, particularly focused on Fixed Income.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies, with hands-on experience in various AWS services. Experience with Azure is advantageous.
  • Expertise in DevOps, including the creation of pipelines and publishing code to Dev/Stage/Prod environments.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in building microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience with caching technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and offer alternatives both independently and within teams.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

Your Desired Skills:

  • A strong team player who is inquisitive, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking.
  • In-depth knowledge of Asset Management industry Operations/Reporting/Back-office.
  • Technical knowledge of BI Tools (PowerBI, Tableau), with VB.net being an added advantage.
  • Developer Certificate in AWS or Azure services would be added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of NRI Systems (GX/TX) and Aladdin is advantageous.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts in both SDLC and Agile methodologies.
