Maritz is adding a Sr. Data Analyst to our growing Decision Sciences team! The Sr. Data Analyst will leverage data analysis, strategic thinking, business acumen, and data storytelling to create value for our internal Maritz clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for using data to solve problems, a proven track record of analyzing complex datasets, demonstrated ability in supporting business improvement initiatives, and the ability to effectively communicate results to non-technical stakeholders. 

This is a hybrid role in our Fenton, MO campus.

25% - Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to understand opportunities and translate those into detailed analyses and data stories that will help drive improvement with the business. Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.  

  

25% - Develop, design, and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor business performance. Work with IT and Data Engineering teams to build requirements, gather data from appropriate sources and build data models. Leverage tools like Big Query, SQL Server, Google Data Studio, Tableau, and excel to build, maintain, and update dashboards.  

  

25% - Apply techniques like experimental design, machine learning, and causal inference to address business needs, often working in tandem with Senior Data Scientists. Design and analyze A/B tests and controlled experiments to iteratively improve things like targeted email sends and on-site changes. Design machine learning models for tasks like customer segmentation, sales forecasting, and churn prediction. Use techniques like propensity score matching for tasks like establishing the lift resulting from program changes.   

  

25% - Communicate complex data findings and resulting opportunities for business improvement to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner. Incorporate client-facing skills with data storytelling to share insights with stakeholders. Connect insights in data to business realities to develop strategic business recommendations and actions.   

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience serving internal or external clients in a business or marketing environment as a data analyst.  

  • 1.5+ years of experience translating data into engaging stories, with actionable insights.  

  • 1.5+ years of experience with relational database systems such as SQL.   

  • 1.5+ years of experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and/or controlled experiments.  

  • Proficiency in SQL.

  • Proficiency in R or Python preferred.

  • Must thrive when presenting complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.  

  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects for multiple stakeholders.  

  • Experience working with ecommerce or consumer program and/or platform data is preferred. 

  • Experience with machine learning or causal inference is a plus.  

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in analytics, statistics, data science, economics, business, or other relevant discipline required.
