Join Our Team as a Student Intern in Applied Artificial Intelligence
We are excited to offer a student internship position (w/m/d) aimed at enhancing our research capabilities in the field of applied Artificial Intelligence. This role is perfect for those passionate about advancing AI interpretability and transparency, particularly in large-scale Vision-Language Models (VLMs).
Key Responsibilities
Advance AI Interpretability: Focus on improving the interpretability of AI models to ensure transparency and trust in VLMs for real-world applications.
Integrate Explainable AI (XAI) Techniques: Train and evaluate VLMs while incorporating cutting-edge XAI techniques for real-time inference.
Contribute to AI Tools: Work on embedding explainability into AI tools such as Intel's OneAPI and OpenVINO, enhancing model interpretability, efficiency, and reliability.
Optimize AI Models: Utilize your expertise in model compression and quantization to enable optimized deployment of AI models on resource-constrained systems.
Adapt XAI for Safety-Critical Applications: Ensure AI-driven decisions are understandable and trustworthy, particularly in autonomous mobile systems.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
-Educational Background: Currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science, neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a related field.
-AI and Programming Skills: Strong understanding of AI models and practical experience in programming with PyTorch.
-Mathematical Proficiency: Proficiency in advanced linear algebra, with a solid technical background in mathematical concepts.
-Unix/Linux Experience: Experience with Unix/Linux systems, including shell scripting and command-line operations.
-Language Skills: Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
Advantageous Qualifications
-Neuroscience and AI Integration: Integration of neuroscience with explainable AI in computer vision enhances comprehension of both biological vision systems and AI interpretability, fostering innovative insights at the intersection of these fields.
-SLURM Workloads: Experience with SLURM workloads.
-Uncertainty Estimation: Familiarity with uncertainty estimation techniques of AI models.
-Research Experience: Previous involvement in computer vision research, familiarity with LLM models, and knowledge of explainable AI techniques.
