What you'll do...
What You'll do
· Independently own, address, and resolve data and application issues, provide updates, and perform root cause analysis.
· Demonstrate application support process/service management knowledge, including incident management, problem management, defect tracking, change management, reporting, and SLAs.
· Plan, execute, and implement application and certification configuration change procedures.
· Manage all production systems, recommend ways to optimize performance, provide solutions to problems, and prepare reports on issues.
· Build tools using Python/scripting to continuously monitor and alert on various platform components.
· Modify production Spark/GCP configurations as needed and maintain infrastructure documentation.
· Collaborate productively with distributed teams.
· Support On-Call for a 12x7 rotation as needed, with the ability to support night shifts if required.
· Regularly install and prepare tools necessary for the proper functioning of applications.
· Exhibit expert-level understanding of incident management processes and procedures.
· Identify and drive continuous improvement and automation efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
· Absorb and understand complex distributed systems and share knowledge with peers and beyond.
· Build tools to improve visibility, proactively detect issues, and restore system availability.
· Develop automation and self-healing solutions with DevOps, Engineering, and SRE partners.
· Focus strongly on collecting and inferring metrics.
· Communicate clearly and effectively.
· Analyse systems and make recommendations to prevent potential problems, taking the lead on issue resolution using knowledge of complex, company-wide systems.
· Utilize Python scripting and software development to automate and enhance existing solutions.
· Design and develop Tableau dashboards.
What you'll bring
· 4 to 8 years of overall work experience in the IT operations domain with the following technical expertise:
· 5+ years of experience supporting, investigating, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise data pipeline systems.
· Experience with frameworks/tools such as GIT, xMatters workflow integration, and ServiceNow integration.
· Mandatory working experience with GCP and Spark components.
· Expertise in SQL.
· Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Scala.
· Experience administering Unix/Linux in a production environment.
· Understanding of Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell, including system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
· Experience with monitoring/tooling solutions such as Grafana, Splunk, GCP Monitoring, New Relic, and Dynatrace.
· Hands-on knowledge of one or more cloud technologies, such as AZURE, GCP, or AWS, with GCP preferred.
· Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
· Hands-on experience with Automic or Airflow Scheduler is a must-have.
· Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems using Spark components in a GCP cloud environment.
· Comfortable building metrics, monitoring, and alerting for microservices.
· 4+ years in an infrastructure, systems engineering, or development environment delivering operational excellence to highly complex distributed systems.
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Strong and demonstrable incident management skills with relevant experience in an enterprise organization.
· 3+ years of relevant experience in Devops Operational Model.
· Experience and exposure to working in a 24/7 operations support environment.
· Methodical and systematic problem-solving approach, combined with strong ownership, initiative, and drive.
· Experience investigating, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise systems.
· Knowledge and experience with Kafka, Storm, Druid, and Presto are added advantages.
· Retail experience and knowledge of commercial data is a significant plus
