RESPONSIBILITIES and KEY OBJECTIVES

Team Leadership and Analytics Leadership

  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain analytics talent within your team and support development and retention of talent across teams.
  • Lead a team of analyst in the US and LCCI (dotted line) on the delivery of high quality, validated analytics work
  • Contribute to an inclusive community within and outside of BI&A.
  • Facilitate the broad spectrum of analytics needed (inception to insights) for BU specific work
  • Collaborate with the BI&A data democratization team to prioritize and develop self-serve dashboards and automated reports
  • Facilitate the cooperation, discussion and execution between BI&A data engineering team and Tech@Lilly for the building and deploying of consistent datasets for analysis.
  • Translate analytics needs into technical requirements for the BI&A data engineering
  • Track team deliverables and report on BI&A KPIs (impact, innovation, and efficiency) 
  • Foster analytics innovation by sourcing innovative analytics concepts (from internal and external sources)
  • Influence product strategy and collaborate with your counterparts across BUs and analytic teams to ensure consistent analytics choices, data definitions, and business rules for analytics models to enable opportunities to scale across the enterprise  
  • Support and utilize analytics products to deliver standardized and repeatable work in order to increase team productivity and efficiency (including standard business rules, using common code, contributing to and leveraging analytics products)
  • Translate business problems into a clear analytics workplan with appropriate analytics solutions for execution that will meaningfully drive results and impact
  • Collaborate on analytics work across BI&A teams to ensure seamless delivery of analytics to the business.
  • Manage a wide variety of senior stakeholders and junior colleagues as a part of a highly matrixed organization
  • Become the champion for delivering analytics insights (descriptive through prescriptive) with recommended actions.
  • Orchestrates and coordinates analytics work within team to efficiently triage analytics requests (e.g., outsourced vs. advanced analytics vs. LCCI) and help prioritize analytics backlog in partnership with the brands and BI&A leadership
  • Provide analytics input for teams on business impact, biases, trade-offs with not only approach but implementation of the work
  • Provide support and leadership in capabilities initiatives such as dynamic targeting, personalization, and the broad spectrum of AI deliverables.
  • Champion the use of marketing mix model results to inform investment decisions
  • Support a prospectively designed and planned testing culture that rapidly tests, measures, and iterates on marketing content and activity

Business Integration

  • Act as the single point of contact for all commercial HCP marketing analytics needs within the immunology and oncology business units within Lilly USA
  • Participate in developing the BU strategy and foster data-driven decision-making
  • Articulate analytics proposition to business stakeholders and conducts diagnostics to identify novel use case opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of business goals, customer journey, pain points, business drivers, and challenges and associated TA-specific knowledge for brands
  • Influence brand leads and help determine brand strategy through the appropriate adoption of analytics solutions
  • Prioritize the highest impact analytics deliverables and collaborate with business leaders and cross functional stakeholders on trade-off decisions to maximize business outcomes for Lilly holistically
  • Translate analytics outcomes into business insights to recommend and guide business decisions
  • Ensure business decisions are made with solid supporting evidence grounded in analytics
  • Use data democratization (dashboard central) dashboard tools to provide analytics expertise and champion teaching the brands how to use the tools to derive insights in real time
  • Leverage organizational resources to mentor and educate brand team leads to increase analytics and data fluency
  • Partner with data science experts in and outside of BI&A to present complex models and technical processes in an easily digestible format and create organizational buy-in for recommendations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience within an analytical function or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS / PREFERENCES

  • Quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics, finance, or related
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with business acumen, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to query relational datasets using SQL
  • Experience using common data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Broad awareness and working knowledge of advanced analytics areas such AI. ML, NLP and Predictive Analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analytics concepts and influence change with a variety of business stakeholder
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal influencing skills and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • Working knowledge of statistical programming packages (e.g., R, SAS, Python, MATLAB) and types of predictive models a plus
  • Strong track record of leading and influencing direction in cross-functional teams
  • Substantial analytics experience and understanding of complexities in specialty markets, and US healthcare data sets used in the US pharmaceutical business
  • Proven ability to rally resources to achieve project and business results
  • High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce business rules and policies in a constructive but disciplined manner

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$162,000 - $237,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
