About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to support the IT Management Data Warehouse within the Enterprise Data Environment of the Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) Group.

EFT provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Enterprise Service Management (ESM) is a new organization in EFT which represents the integration of the ServiceNow delivery team, IT data, and Governance to provide an unmatched, industry-leading experience for customers and employees alike. ESM’s vision is to empower our teams to work smarter, faster, and more consistently through efficient process, reusable capabilities, and trusted data.  

 

In this role, you will:

  • Act in the technical role an individual contributor and help design solutions for complex computer applications and/or applications initiatives.

  • Utilize a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.

  • Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.

  • Lead complex multiple modeling, and analysis efforts.

  • Act as expert technical resources to Data Engineering staff in the Design, testing, and implementation process.

  • Work on complex data initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale software planning for the Technology area

  • Design data services that deliver Strategic Enterprise Risk Management data and help solution and build high performing and scalable data pipeline platform using Hadoop, Ab Initio, EXADATA and Cloud based solutions.

  • Perform data analysis and modelling tasks within a data warehouse environment.

  • Perform SQL queries to analyze and troubleshoot issues.

  • Discover problems in data and applications and design solutions with engineering and product leadership.

  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering situations requiring understanding of technology data and data relationships.

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve highly risky data engineering challenges

  • Works quickly and independently to meet required sprint objectives

  • Actively participates in cross-team meetings and is excited to share knowledge for broader team improvement

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

 

Required Qualifications:

  •  5+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of experience in query or SQL tuning

  • 3+ years of experience in performing peer SQL code reviews

  • 3+ years of experience in data modelling within a data warehouse environment

  • 3+ years of MapR Hadoop, Hive or Oracle SQL Experience

  • 1+ years ServiceNow experience

 

Desired qualifications:

  • ETL Experience

  • CI/CD Tool Experience

  • Autosys experience

  • Experience working in an Agile Team

  • Understanding of SDLC Requirements

Job expectations:

  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours if needed

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$96,600.00 - $171,800.00
