R&D Engineer

DeepOrigin builds a platform that combines cutting-edge ideas from scientific computing, AI and quantum chemistry to accelerate the drug discovery process many-fold. Our aim is to reduce the timescale of drug discovery projects from years to months.

We are looking for motivated R&D engineers to join this effort. The primary responsibility of the role is to contribute to the design and development of the fastest molecular dynamics system in the world. The system is one of the core products we develop, together with our state-of-the-art machine learning solutions.

Day-to-day

• Design, research and code efficient solutions in Julia language – familiarity with Julia is not required, but the candidate is expected to learn it once they join.
• Write good quality, maintainable and well documented code.
• Contribute to documentation, tests.
• Run performance experiments, investigate and resolve issues, write tests.
• Take responsibility proactively.

Requirements

• Background in computer science, applied mathematics or physics.
• Fluency in Python and its numerical libraries. Familiarity with a low-level language like C.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• At least 4 years of experience working with mid- or large-size codebases.
• Knowledge of the basics of compilers and programming languages.
• Experience with Docker image construction, deployment.
• Good command of English.
• Availability to work full-time.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with computer architecture (CPU/memory).
• Strong interest in physical sciences (physics, chemistry or biology).
• Experience with high performance computing (e.g. through slurm).
• AWS cloud computing experience.
• Knowledge of the Julia programming language.
