R&D Engineer

We are looking for a R&D Engineer (flexible working time and partial remote work possible) to join our growing team in Madrid, Spain. 

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in both researching new cutting edge algorithms and successfully deploying them in production, for an exciting new opportunity to automate the most valuable processes related to analysis of photogrammetry assets.

The technology stacks you will work on range in scope from low level image processing, to machine learning methods applied to computer vision, to processing of large three dimensional datasets. You'll work on a variety of highly technical subjects, bridging the gap between academic research and thousands of daily users.

At Pix4D we are expanding our portfolio of expertise to successfully close the divide between the creation of unstructured reality models (pointclouds, meshes), and generating a digital twin of reality.

You will play a central role in the delivery of the core underlying technology that will power the next generation of Pix4D most successful desktop and cloud applications.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, implement and maintain algorithms for 2D (e.g. images) and 3D (e.g. point clouds) data processing (e.g. segmentation and object detection)
• Engage in the full product life-cycle from early concepts and prototypes to full deployment
• Participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of core software components and critical ETL infrastructure
• Work as part of a distributed team and engage in technical discussions in a creative, interactive and dynamic team based environment
• Actively participate in the team and company’s agile processes

Requirements

• Good knowledge of modern C++ programming (c++20 standard): focused on code quality, simplicity, and ease of maintenance
• Good knowledge of python language programming: focus on data analysis, visualization libraries
• Experience with computer vision algorithms
• Experience with Machine Learning algorithms
• STEM background is a strong plus
• Strong problem solving skills
• Pride in high-quality work
• Open-minded and able to work collaboratively in a team
• Flexible and open-minded to feel at home in a fast growing technology company
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Proficient English language skills, written and spoken
