Overview 

The Data Office team at T. You will be an individual contributor on the Analytics and Data Platform engineering team responsible for architecting, building, testing and maintaining the data platform to ingest, curate and deliver core enterprise datasets for the whole organization. 

 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Contributing to the platform’s architectural design 

  • Development and testing of the integration, modelling, data persistence and querying tools and analytical systems 

  • Implement, maintain and test new data and analytics pipelines into the firm’s core data lake infrastructure  

  • Metadata management processes and tools 

  • Monitoring and continuously improve the overall performance, timeliness and stability of the data pipelines 

  • Implementing data curation, metadata management and data quality tooling 

  • Engaging with our business and technology partners to ensure that the platform fully meets the firm’s needs 

 

Preferred Technical experience/skills 

  • 7+ years of experience working as a Java/Python developer.  

  • A solid foundation in data engineering, with 3+ years of professional experience working on data pipelines in a modern data ecosystem.  

  • A good understanding of modern lakehouse architectures and corresponding technologies, such as Dremio, Snowflake, Iceberg, (Py)Spark / Glue / EMR, dbt and Airflow / Dagster.  

  • Strong understanding of AWS ecosystems like Lambdas, step functions and ECS services. 

  • Experience in architecting cloud components, integration layer and data storage. 

  • Python engineering skills with exposure to pandas, Numpy. R could be a plus. 

  • Hands on experience on RDBMS like PostgreSQL would be a plus.  

  • Expertise in data analysis with exposure to data services (such as Glue, Lake Formation, EMR, EventBridge, Athena, etc.) & metadata management tools (such as Amundsen, Atlas, DataHub, OpenDataDiscovery, Marquez, etc.), 

  • Experience building modern enterprise-wide data and analytics systems in a financial services organisation with an understanding of the asset management business and/or financial markets 

T. Rowe Price Technology operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of two days required in the London office.
