Senior Azure DevOps Data engineer

We are looking for an Senior Azure DevOps Data engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure on Microsoft Azure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

The team

You will be working with a team of 4 talented engineers on the creation of Operational Insight: a data platform based on Azure synapse that will provide for effortless Data Onboarding, Self service data preparation, Reporting connectivity and to deliver quality and safeguarded data in an automated way.

Roles and responsibilities

You will ensure scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient data solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to support analytics and machine learning workloads.

• Build and optimize data pipelines for ETL/ELT workflows on Azure Synapse.
• Develop reusable Terraform configurations for Azure data services.
• Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, ensuring consistency across environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipeline performance and reliability.
• Implement best practices for security, logging, and cost optimization in Azure data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate data workflows with analytics, reporting, and machine learning systems.

• 5+ years in DevOp role, with hands-on experience building data pipelines on Azure.
• Proficiency in Terraform for deploying and managing cloud resources.
• Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development with Azure Synapse.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of real-time/batch data processing, cloud security, and cost-efficient architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Fluent in English.

Good to Have

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of data modelling and governance on Azure.
• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
