Job Description

As an Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting basic investment research, assisting in building recommendations, and developing investment strategies. As a part of the team, you will also play an active role in supporting initiatives that deliver on the group’s broader objectives.

Team Description

The Credit Strategy Group within CI maximizes alpha generation by managing asset allocation across a broad credit investment mandate, aligning department risk and return expectations, and leveraging global credit market insights to inform asset allocation. The team also develops and maintains the technology and analytic tools essential for efficient capital deployment and informed investment decisions.

Accountabilities:

  • Participate in the strategic asset allocation process. This key role includes financial/statistical modeling, portfolio analysis, and portfolio construction work related to long-term asset allocation.
  • Help maintain the process for capturing key strategy attributes and ensure consistent calibration across active strategies.
  • Contribute to the research and development of investment strategies.
  • In collaboration with senior team, develop, test, and integrate further financial models in python to better perform performance attribution, risk analysis, pricing, and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in creating management and committee materials, including memos and presentations as needed under guidance.
  • Identify gaps in current tools and processes under guidance and collaborate with senior team members to prioritize improvements and developments.
  • Work directly with partners to develop, test, integrate, and implement solutions for transformational initiatives
  • Experiment with machine learning and large language models to determine whether and how they can be used in the investment process.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field
  • An advanced degree is an asset
  • Up to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of/experience with active investment management or asset allocation processes is a plus.
  • Strong computer/technical skills – Python, SQL, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint (Any of Javascript, C++, Rust, and R is a plus)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
