Job Description

As a Principal Engineer in CPS Engineering, you will be a senior technical expert & SME driving automation, innovation, development, and delivery of high-scale, data-intensive applications. You will play a key role in shaping technology selection, best practices, automation, and DevSecOps adoption while ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.

Our technology stack includes C++, Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Databricks, Snowflake, and both On-prem and cloud-native solutions. You will help enhance our platform by identifying automation and quality improvement opportunities, optimizing and standardizing development workflows, and improving system efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Innovation & Development

  • Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of high-volume data processing applications.
  • Research and adopt emerging technologies, ensuring continuous improvement in performance, scalability, observability and maintainability.
  • Drive best coding practices, development standards, and automation strategies to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop modular, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to validate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Delivery & Execution

  • Play a hands-on role in developing critical components and features.
  • Optimize data pipelines, APIs, and microservices for high efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure the integration and deployment of solutions through CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation.
  • Work closely with QA, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure teams to streamline deployment processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and debugging to maintain high system reliability.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Act as a go-to expert in the CPS Input Development team, driving best practices and engineering excellence.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data Science, DevOps, and infra, to align technology with business needs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in software development, technology innovation, and large-scale system design.
  • Expertise in FMCG Domain and CPS engineering concepts, practices , and processes.
  • Strong programming expertise in Java, C++, Python.
  • Hands-on experience with databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in big data processing: PySpark, Azure Databricks, Hive.
  • Experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools: Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git, Airflow.
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies: Angular or React (preferably Angular).
  • Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (Azure experience preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux and Shell scripting.
  • Experience in Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps for automation and reporting.
  • Experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Exposure to data streaming, caching, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for building high-performance, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
