Job Duties
The Decision Data Analyst is a skilled and adaptable data and process improvement professional with primary responsibilities in process analysis, design, and development for the Investment team. The incumbent’s responsibilities include analyzing existing processes, interviewing business process owners, gathering relevant data, and then developing and implementing technology-based process improvement strategies. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining existing processes and completing ad-hoc requests. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with data analysis, modeling, reporting, and database development as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with Investment team members and conduct interviews to discuss areas of improvement; Gather data to identify areas of process improvement.
- Design workflows and process strategies to improve business performance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of investments databases, including the architecture of and data flow between systems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for business and technical processes such as data flows and operational systems.
- Provide support to internal teams by assisting with data gathering analysis, and report development.
- Continue to enhance technical skills including advanced SQL, process automation and reporting tools.
- Attend relevant conferences, training seminars, or classes to enhance knowledge of programming languages, investments and investment systems, process automation and business intelligence tools.
- Special projects at the direction of the Decision Systems Manager - IDS.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using high-level programming language such as SQL, Python, or MATLAB
- Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services, PowerBI and/or Tableau.
- Experience gathering and documenting process or system requirements.
- Experience improving business and technical processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience writing technical documents.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail to help solve problems and make decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
Additional Considerations
- Knowledge within investments, and the technology implementation surrounding investments including: SQL Server, data modeling, business intelligence, computational application development, financial engineering, and/or financial market data
- Experience within the public sector
- Experience with robotic process automation tools such as UiPath or Power Automate
- An advanced degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technical field

This position follows the hybrid work model currently requiring three days onsite and two days remote; the selected candidate must be able to work in the office any day of the week as required by the manager.
