What You Will Contribute To Altos

An exciting opportunity to work with a highly collaborative, fast-paced team focused on reversing brain aging. This position will bridge computational analysis of large omic datasets to identify optimal therapeutic targets.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage ‘omics analysis systems pipelines for scientific analysis, and machine learning workflows in an integrated, usable framework.
  • Lead studies for target optimization for brain rejuvenation.
  • Understand scientists' needs across a wide range of scientific disciplines by collaborating with both users and software engineers.
  • Bridge the communication gap between experimental scientists, algorithm developers and software deployers.
  • Demonstrate software engineering skills to develop reliable, scalable, performant distributed systems in a cloud environment.

Who You Are

The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience/Computer Science/Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages commonly used for large-scale data management and machine learning, such as Python, C++, Scala, Julia, etc.
  • Previous experience with ‘omics data
  • Experience applying software engineering practices in a scientific environment, or another environment with similar characteristics.
  • Ability to present technical datasets to wide-audience.
  • Proven publication and presentation track record.
  • Excited to design, implement, and effectively communicate technical and cultural standards across scientific and technical functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bioinformatics data processing and analysis.
  • Neuroscience background

The salary range for Redwood City, CA:

  • Scientist I: $141,950 - $192,050
  • Scientist II: $167,000 - $242,400
  • Senior Scientist I: $202,000 - $270,000
  • Senior Scientist II: $225,000 - $294,000

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
