To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
- Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
- In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
- Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
- Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.

Opportunity to join Barclays as a Data Analyst (Markets QA) role in Prague which is a strategic and technical position focused on automation, data management, and process optimization to support the global Markets Quantitative Analytics(QA) team. The ideal candidate will have strong JIRA expertise with coding skills (Python, Power BI, or similar) to automate reporting, streamline workflows, and enhance data accuracy for decision-making. They will act as a bridge between HQ and Prague, engaging with senior stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and improve team connectivity. This hybrid role requires both business management and technical automation skills, with a hands-on approach to delivering efficiency and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process & Workflow Optimization – Automating reporting and streamlining workflows using JIRA and coding to reduce manual work.
- Data Management & Reporting – Developing automated dashboards and ensuring data accuracy for strategic decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborating with senior business leaders, quant teams, and technology partners across global locations.
- Strategic Initiative Execution – Helping drive and track key business priorities and efficiency projects.
- Cross-Team Coordination – Acting as a bridge between HQ and the Prague team, improving connectivity and alignment.
Essential Skills:
- Strong JIRA expertise with coding skills (Python, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience in automation and data visualization to support business decision-making.
- Understanding of financial markets and quantitative environments (QA, trading, etc.).
- Strong communication skills to interact with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in managing teams or leading projects is a plus.
This role is global in scope but based in Prague, with an expectation to be in-office regularly to foster collaboration.
