What you'll do...

Director, Data Analytics – Contribution Profit Intelligence

Walmart seeks an experienced Director of Data Analytics to lead the Contribution Profit Intelligence team. This role is crucial in developing sophisticated data sets and analytics solutions, empowering associates to address critical business questions as Walmart evolves. The Director will collaborate closely with Enterprise Finance Transformation teams, notably the Finance Data Factory, influencing strategic roadmaps, driving business requirements, and transitioning finance-developed data assets into production environments.

You’ll sweep us of our feet with:

  • Strategic Business Leadership: Demonstrate deep expertise in Walmart's multiple business units, macroeconomic factors, industry trends, and evolving operating models. Translate complex business requirements into actionable strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with Walmart’s long-term strategic goals.
  • Financial Acumen and Analysis: Utilize advanced financial knowledge to accurately diagnose financial realities, track performance metrics, forecast business impacts, and mitigate risks. Perform advanced financial analyses and proactively communicate strategic implications to diverse stakeholders.
  • Technology & Predictive Analytics: Leverage expertise in Walmart’s finance technology ecosystem, including SQL, OneStream, and PowerBI, to enhance IBG platform capabilities. Drive predictive analytics initiatives by developing advanced forecasting models, employing machine learning techniques, and ensuring agile planning for strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration: Build strong, trusting relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, effectively influencing strategic decisions and fostering collaborative, cross-functional partnerships. Actively listen, communicate positively, and inspire commitment toward shared business objectives.
  • Inclusive Team Development: Create an inclusive and high-performing team culture by embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences. Foster a supportive environment through mentoring, coaching, feedback, and continuous professional development. Regularly recognize and celebrate team achievements.
  • User-Centric Innovation: Prioritize end-user feedback and industry benchmarks to continually enhance the IBG platform, driving innovation and excellence in user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Data Integrity and Validation: Oversee and ensure accuracy and reliability of data analytics outputs, implementing robust data governance and management practices. Guide associates on data structures, compliance, and quality assurance processes.
  • Visionary Alignment & Strategic Decisioning: Guide strategic investment decisions in foundational data, ensuring alignment with Walmart’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and regenerative business practices. Foster a culture of integrity and ethical standards, supporting Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of Walmart’s technology landscape (SQL, OneStream, PowerBI preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into strategic initiatives and solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in predictive analytics, forecasting, and advanced modeling techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives effectively.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 5 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 3: 7 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. 2 years' supervisory experience.
