Metsä Group Services in Gdańsk is looking for Master Data Team Leader for permanent position. We offer an interesting and independent job in an energetic and international environment in a Shared Services Center in Gdańsk.

What Will You Do?

As the Master Data Team Leader you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our master data. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of master data specialists and experts, ensuring high standards of performance and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day operations related to data creation, maintenance, and other key activities, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest quality standards in all master data processes, serving as the first point of escalation for delivery issues and providing effective resolutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data, Process Owners, and other stakeholders, to identify, plan, and develop strategies that support Supply Chain needs and enhance processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, ensuring their needs are met and that there is a clear line of communication regarding master data requirements and expectations.


What are we looking for?

  • Leadership Abilities: You should have experience in leading and managing a team, providing guidance, and inspiring them to achieve their best. Your leadership skills should include the ability to set clear expectations, foster a collaborative work environment, and motivate team members to meet and exceed targets.
  • Expertise in Master Data Management: A thorough understanding of master data concepts, including data governance, data quality, data modeling, and data integration is essential. You should be familiar with industry best practices and be able to apply them effectively within our organization.
  • In-depth Knowledge of Finance / Supplier processes: We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of Finance / Supplier processes. Experience with Finance and Supplier master data would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: We require someone with exceptional analytical capabilities, capable of identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies within the data. You will be responsible for driving data-driven decision-making processes, so attention to detail and a strong ability to interpret complex data sets are crucial.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. You should be able to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike. Collaboration with various departments, such as IT, Sales, and Marketing, will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
  • Problem-Solving Orientation: As a Master Data Team Leader, you will encounter various data-related challenges and obstacles. We are looking for someone who can think critically, approach problems with a solution-oriented mindset, and implement effective strategies to overcome hurdles.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: We value individuals who embrace innovation and are dedicated to constantly improving processes and procedures. Your ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation will be highly regarded.
