Sr Operations & Infrastructure Developer

Gresham Investment Management is seeking an experienced Sr Operations & Infrastructure Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our operations and development processes, with a specific focus on Charles River (order management system), Geneva (portfolio accounting system), and proprietary systems for workflow management and performance reporting. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced financial environment.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • System Integration and Development. Develop, maintain, and enhance integration solutions between Gresham’s trading infrastructure applications.
  • Automation. Create and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes.
  • Data Management. Ensure accurate and efficient data flow between systems, managing data integrity and consistency.
  • Support. Provide technical support for in-house applications (e.g., for performance reporting) and hosted applications (e.g., Charles River, Geneva), troubleshooting issues, and implementing fixes.
  • Collaboration. Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other Gresham stakeholders (e.g., Investor Relations) to understand their needs and develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Documentation. Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and integrations.
  • Continuous Improvement. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance the overall performance of our systems.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Required Skills:

  • 3+ Years Experience working in Financial Services Sector
  • 3+ Years Experience working with SQL and/or other relational databases
  • 3+ Years Experience and proficiency in Python, including experience with version upgrades
  • Experience with API Integrations and Data exchange protocols

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Possess an understanding of financial markets and trading concepts.
  • Possess hands-on experience with order management and accounting systems such as Charles River or Geneva experience.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Familiarity with automation and scheduling tools and frameworks.
  • Desire to build robust, scalable solutions rather than implement quick fixes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
