Job Title: Vice President, Quantitative Research

Location: 50 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001

Job Duties: Research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art quantitative models used to assess financial risks across fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative products. Utilize modeling research and collective intelligence to deliver quantitative solutions and insights to help analyze investments and manage risk. Apply mathematical and programming techniques to develop models and analytics for areas such as interest rates, equities, and mortgages. Collaborate with partners across the organization to empower our large number of clients to manage their investments and risks. Architect our analytics platform to provide accurate, scalable, and reliable quantitative insights. Build and evolve applications to better deliver our analytics and models to clients. Apply fast-growing technologies such as machine learning and cloud computing to enable more powerful modelling and analysis. Build and implement new and improved financial models on the Aladdin platform. Engineer next-generation data and model platforms through use of cutting-edge technologies. Apply quantitative and analytical skills to solve business problems and fulfill client requests. Build financial and statistical knowledge while improving quantitative skills.

Qualifications: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, or related quantitative field; and five (5) years of experience as an Investment Banking Vice President, Financial Quantitative Analyst, Financial Consultant, Financial Engineer, or related role.

1. Five (5) years of experience with financial modeling, python programming, and financial derivative products such as term structure modeling of interest rates, risk neutral valuation, derivatives pricing and risk, in-depth knowledge of stochastic modeling, programming of large code base in Python.

2. Three (3) years of experience with mortgage products including pricing and risk of TBAs, IOs and inverse IOs. Understanding of fundamental principles of prepayment modeling and its impact on MBS valuation.

3. Two (2) years of experience with interest rate modeling including building extended models to incorporate identified missing risk factors using C++ programming.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$208,800.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
