Your Role's mission:

The Technical Lead plays a critical role in driving technical excellence, architectural decisions, and scalable solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality software that meets both business and customer needs, balancing technical leadership with hands-on development.

By mentoring engineers, improving processes, and contributing to a robust engineering culture, the Lead Software Engineer directly impacts Pelico’s ability to scale and innovate in the manufacturing intelligence space.


Main Responsibilities: 

1. Ensure Technical Excellence and Scalable Architecture that supports business growth.

- Own deep expertise in frontend or backend development: Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript (frontend) or Python, Flask, Kotlin, Java (backend).
- Design and implement scalable architectures for Pelico’s platform.
- Ensure the best software development practices (clean code, automated testing, CI/CD).
- Optimize the data model, API structures, and microservices architecture.
- Drive key architectural decisions with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.

2. Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration and Engineering Best Practices to deliver impactful and maintainable solutions.


- Partner closely with Product Managers to define technical requirements and shape the product roadmap.
- Maintain alignment between business priorities and technical feasibility.
- Lead technical discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions across teams.
- Coordinate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployments and system reliability.

3. Optimize Performance, Reliability, and System Efficiency


- Continuously monitor, profile, and improve system performance.
- Implement best practices in fault tolerance, observability, and distributed systems.
- Reduce technical debt and legacy system risks through proactive refactoring.
- Champion security best practices to ensure a robust and compliant platform.

4. Provide Leadership in Technical Execution and Team Development


- Act as a technical leader and mentor for engineers, fostering growth and excellence.
- Set clear technical guidelines, coding standards, and best practices.
- Ensure teams are focused, motivated, and aligned on priorities.
- Provide hands-on contributions to key projects when necessary.

5. Contribute to Hiring and Team Growth


- Lead technical interviews and hiring processes to attract top engineering talent.
- Define onboarding and mentoring programs for new engineers.
- Continuously assess and improve the team’s technical skill set and culture.
- Advocate for a collaborative and innovative engineering culture within Pelico.



Location : You will be based in Paris, with English as your working language. We offer a hybrid work arrangement.

  • Risk anticipation & mitigation – Identifies potential technical pitfalls early and proactively mitigates risks.
  • Innovation & automation – Leads efforts in process automation, technical improvements, and innovation.
Leadership and Hiring
  • Team leadership & project management – Experience leading engineering teams or large-scale projects.
  • Mentorship & team development – Actively guides, supports, and helps engineers grow.
  • Hiring & talent acquisition – Plays a key role in recruiting and retaining top engineering talent.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
  • Comprehensive documentation – Maintains clear, well-structured technical documentation.
  • Transparency in architectural decisions – Ensures visibility of key technical choices for the team.
