WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Senior Prototyper within our Prototyping and Innovation team you will lead the technical creation of high-quality, innovative prototypes that expand the boundaries of our product suite. You will utilise your extensive technical knowledge in areas such as app development, data pipelines, machine learning, and more to swiftly develop and deploy solutions. You'll also manage and mentor junior team members, helping them improve their skills and contribute to the success of the team.

We’re looking for a positive, code-first approach to problem solving, a strong desire to learn new technical skills, and a keen awareness of the business needs that we’re solving for.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Technical Leadership: Oversee the technical design and implementation of prototypes, ensuring they align with project objectives and are technically feasible. Guide junior prototypers by offering mentorship and coaching.
• Prototype Development: Create and deploy functional, high-quality prototypes utilising various technologies, including: Web based apps, data pipelines, Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Optimization, Automation Agent-based systems and Dynamic systems/Reinforcement Learning
• Technical Expertise: Maintain deep expertise in relevant technologies and frameworks and share this knowledge with the team.
• Mentorship and Coaching: Support and guide junior prototypers, fostering their technical development and enabling them to contribute effectively. Provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the prototyping cell, including junior prototypers, and the Research and Design teams. Clearly communicate technical concepts and challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem Solving: Adopt a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, addressing technical complexities with creative solutions.
• Process Adherence: Follow core prototyping principles, prioritising speed, iteration, and validation over perfection. Actively engage in the teams processes and contribute to ongoing improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Experience in software development, data science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying early-stage concepts
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with cloud platforms.
• Background in Data Science, Engineering, or Analytics.
• Experience with plotting libraries, front-end frameworks, databases, LLMs, and APIs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in ambiguous situations and navigate complex technical challenges.
• Experience mentoring junior team members is advantageous.
