About the workplace

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location in Vancouver and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week. The Team: In this role, you will report to the Director, Research & Insights.

If you’re a senior leader with deep expertise in consumer research methodologies, stakeholder engagement, storytelling skills, and advanced analytics, this is the role for you! As the Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership to uncover and drive consumer insights into enterprise-wide decision-making.

A typical day would involve:

  • Provide high level strategic leadership and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, translating business challenges into actionable research plans that drive strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Customer Experience, Marketing, Product and Digital teams to build research roadmaps and integrate consumer insights into decision-making processes.
  • Ensure the right business questions are being asked to ensure work is within scope and aligned to organization's strategic focus.
  • Oversee the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research studies, leveraging innovative methodologies and technologies to uncover market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive insights.
  • Design segmentation strategies, tracking methodologies, and analytical frameworks to ensure adoption, robust analysis, and measurement of consumer trends and behaviors.
  • Synthesize complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights and recommendations. Create compelling narratives that inform business strategies and present insights in visually engaging ways tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Mentor and inspire a team of experienced researchers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Drive a positive culture towards curiosity, innovation, and excellence in the delivery and socialization of consumer insights.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or a related field
  • 10+ years in the consumer insights & market research field utilizing customer segmentation, CX/UX, brand health, ad tracking, NPS/customer satisfaction, voice of the customer and/or product development research methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies such as Qualtrics, SQL, Python, R, PowerBI, Recollective tools are an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing research teams, driving a culture of innovation, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder consultation skills to uncover clear research objectives and guide end-users through resulting insights to inform business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing compelling narratives, translating complex data into easy to understand, actionable insights for executives and operational teams.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking skills to proactively identify ways that consumer research can best support business plans.
  • Strong experience in influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams, acting as a trusted advisor to translate business challenges into research-driven solutions.
  • Experience with machine learning and AI applications in consumer research is a bonus.

The salary range for this role is $102,200 to $153,200 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
