The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Scope of Position:
The position will be responsible for analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data visualization and reporting systems for Fiber manufacturing environment. In this capacity, they will work closely with engineering, operations and business leaders in the Fiber plants to deliver manufacturing data and information.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Improve manufacturing performance by analyzing manufacturing processes and product data to build various reports and dashboards to be used by operational leaders to make key operational decisions.
- Good knowledge about any manufacturing processes to generate ware flow reporting, scorecards, dashboards, summary, and detail reporting to give good insights to manufacturing productivity, backlogs and outputs.
- Promptly address and resolve any data-related reporting issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Provide off-hours support for Division MI/Data systems based on rotation
- Maintains close relationships with business personnel and Corporate IT to understand changing business requirements and drive adoption to standard reporting practices and systems.
- Requires thorough understanding of data collected from the manufacturing process and how to analyze, organize, and present to operations and engineering counterparts.
- Expert for the development and maintenance of ancillary data feeds to reporting systems.
- Maintain architecture, standard and performance of manufacturing data solutions for the fiber manufacturing division.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors in computer or data science/electrical/chemical/industrial engineering
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data science, or related field
Required Skills:
- Experience using Microsoft SQL server Business Intelligence Development Studio.
- Experience in developing data extraction packages using SSIS.
- Experience in developing reports design and development using SSRS.
- Experience in Cube design and development using SSAS.
- Knowledge and experience in Power BI.
- Full Life Cycle Experience in Model, Design, Development of Data warehouse/ETL/BI Solutions.
- Strong Back End development skills and knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or others).
- Good Database development experience for both OLTP & OLAP Systems.
- Build SQL to conduct statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, lean principles and Six sigma methodologies
Desired Skills:
- Ability to generate ware flow reporting, scorecards, dashboards, summary, and detail reporting to give good insights to manufacturing productivity, backlogs and outputs.
- Ability to work with operations and engineering team to define and understand business or operational requirements.
- Strong data analytics & exposure to Digital tools related to Cloud technology.
- Comprehend one or more manufacturing processes and have the capability to implement data-driven solutions effectively within those processes.
- Possess knowledge in the design and implementation of cloud-based data architectures for the storage and processing of manufacturing data.
- Self-discipline and motivation.
- Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple regions.
- Process oriented and customer focused.
- Able to communicate with engineers, production associates, managers, and business leaders.

The range for this position is $100,259.00 - $137,857.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
