Johnson Controls is making a considerable investment in in AI tools including Palantir Foundry as part of our Digitization Journey. To achieve the desired outcomes within the specified timeframe, we need an AI Project Data Specialist who understands data, the JCI data environment and the JCI business. This role will also ensure that all foundational data for the entire digitization program is understood and work to ensure data availability.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in understanding and managing the underlying architecture and data source connections. This person will oversee the integration and optimization of data systems, ensuring data flow and accessibility.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the AI Architect/ Product Owner and the AI Data Modelling Analysts to understand what data is required
- Identify what data already is available in Snowflake
- Define the data acquisition strategy and rules (e.g. what type of data can be acquired via flat file rather than direct ingestion, update frequency)
- Work with the IT project manager and the business project manager to understand timelines and identify any potential risks
- Participate in workshops/meetings with the procurement teams (e.g. category manager reviews) to understand the business requirements
- Understand the data landscape at JCI and engage with other teams and projects to understand dependencies, risks and opportunities
- Review source to target mapping (STTM) and technical design.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of data sets and transformations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders and the delivery team
- Experience in reviewing technical designs and source to target mappings.
- Understanding of the JCI data environment and business processes.
- Ability to identify and work with data available in Snowflake.
- Knowledge of underlying data architecture and source-to-target mapping (STTM).
- Engagement with Cross-functional Teams: Ability to engage with other teams and projects to understand dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
- 4-6 years experience in a data role
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
