AT&T has an opening for an NMS Database Manager / Administrator to support the National Security Team.

This position directly impacts continuous monitoring, performance analysis, and cybersecurity for a large worldwide network enterprise through deploying, tuning, and optimizing network management tools. The position is one of a large team of developers, system administrators, and application experts building next-generation solutions. Our team is working to automate deployment functions, event responses, and network provisioning. This is an opportunity to develop a network performance solution capable of predicting outages and identifying malicious user activity through analytics of baseline network behavior. Work with us to modernize four security enclaves with thousands of devices in a unique, mission-focused environment.

This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for database design, implementation, and maintenance, and the operation and setup of database systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the operation and setup of database systems in support of the Network Management System.
  • Executes database projects and assists in coordination of all database production scheduling; coordinates production support with outside vendors, as needed.
  • Ensures that database projects are completed on time, within budget, and to user’s satisfaction.
  • Interfaces with users to determine scope of project.
  • Works on complex projects independently and has thorough knowledge of database systems and application packages including Vertica, Postgres, Oracle, MariaDB, and MySQL.
  • Troubleshoots computer equipment problems and performs minor preventive maintenance.
  • Experienced with data integration working with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) tools.
  • Experienced with and know intimately all Microsoft Office applications.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications: Required candidate qualifications must include hands-on experience with multiple database system technologies including Oracle and Postgres. The candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. (NOTE: This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years of experience OR Masters and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, Associates and 14 years or HS and 16 years). The degree must be in Computer Science or a related technical field. A highly motivated candidate must be able to work independently and with local and geographically diverse team members using effective time management skills to meet deliverable timelines. Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.

Desired Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Vertica and MariaDB database system technologies.

Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
