Job Posting Description

Develops data integration strategies, source to target mappings, data lineage, and data transformation logic. Analyzes and understands business requirements and hospital data sources and, design and develop dimensional data models for data warehouse and data marts.

The  Data Engineer III will be responsible for :

  • Collaborating as a member of cross-functional teams to analyze and understand business requirements and hospital data sources, using that understanding to design and develop dimensional data models that serve as blueprints for the data warehouse/data marts.
  • Assisting in developing master data management strategies, enterprise data standards, and data architecture, ensuring data is well-defined, accurate, standardized, cleaned, and structured for end-user self-service reporting.
  • Developing data integration strategies, source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and data transformation logic.
  • Implementing data profiling and data quality methodologies and embedding them into processes involved in transforming vast amounts of data across systems.
  • Creating strategies for optimal analytics delivery across the enterprise through techniques such as reverse engineering, prototyping, rapid development, and agile methodologies.
  • Developing roadmaps for the evolution of the Data Warehouse in alignment with institutional needs.
  • Taking technical ownership of data marts, supporting specific analytic objectives across the enterprise.
To qualify, you must have:
  • Bachelors Degree  is required in the field of Computer Science or IT or a related field. 
  • 6 years experience assisting in the development of data warehouse and data marts is required 
  • Proven expertise in developing data architectures, data standards, and Master data management strategies and their implementation in the enterprise data management arena.
  • Experience developing data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL) routines using prominent ETL tools like Snowflakes's streams and Dynamic Tables, Striim etc.
  • Experience developing data mapping, Data relationships, hierarchical and dimensional data models; as well as analyzing data quality and Data profiling issues.
  • Broad swath of technology skills in Data Warehouse databases (like Snowflakes, Oracle,SQL Server etc.), SQL programming, PL/SQL development, Performance tuning of Queries, BI/Reporting tools like Microstrategy, Business Objects, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of BI/DW life-cycle and a “systems approach” to solving problems and issues.
  • Thorough understanding of relational database concepts, data dictionaries, data attributes, cross-references & identifiers, data hierarchies & relationship types.
