Your Team

In Data, we charge towards commercial aims. We are a small data engineering team working at the centre of everything Debenhams does, providing reporting, insight and data that enhances our customers’ experience.

We work on a cross departmental basis, providing data and insight relating to finance, merchandising, customer experience.  We constantly adopt new methodology and work with a range of suppliers to enhance our data offering.

We use a variety of different reporting databases across GCP and AWS, and are constantly looking at new opportunities for serving up new reporting solutions.

During the last 12 months, we have significantly changed our methodology for reporting, moving a to a single version of the truth for data across the Debenhams estate.

The team is made up of a head of department, engineering lead, Bi specialist and an engineer

The role

We want to hire a data engineer who will relate mainly to providing reporting and analytics to the wider business. You will engage with key stakeholders and external suppliers, taking their requirements and creating reporting solutions via SQL, Big Query, Google Analytics and various BI tools

You will be Creating new reports based on stakeholder requirements whilst analysing and address business critical queries as and when they arise.

You will be responsible for the curation of new data sources, making sure that it is aligned with existing data sets and working with new suppliers in order to enhance our data estate

What Value you can bring

Ideally you will have high level SQL skills, ideally in a cloud based environment with experience of Python/Pyspark an advantage.

You will have experience of creating reports utilising BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI and Quicksight also with experience of Web analytics, ideally GA4

We would also like to bring someone onboard who has experience of working with Git Hub but this is not an essential.
