Overview
As a key member of the Strategy leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of Enterprise Analytics will be instrumental in shaping and driving the company’s analytics strategy and decision-making capabilities. This role will focus on leveraging advanced analytics, business intelligence, and performance metrics to inform and influence strategic initiatives, operational efficiencies, and business growth.
The Director of Enterprise Analytics will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data and insights agenda, transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations. This leader will work closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure that data-driven insights are aligned and integrated into all aspects of the business, including creating and maintaining an enterprise dashboard/scorecard that tracks insight use and impact across functions.
This role requires a combination of strategic thought and tactical execution with a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-impact analytics initiatives, building data-driven cultures, and influencing key business decisions. The individual will play a critical role in ensuring that data and insights drive both short-term performance and long-term strategic success for the company.

To be successful in this role, the Director of Enterprise Analytics will:
- Design and implement comprehensive analytics strategies that provide deep insights into business performance, trends, and opportunities, ensuring alignment with Planet Fitness strategic objectives and tracking impact via enterprise dashboards/scorecards.
- Act as the go-to expert for cross-functional analytics within the organization, providing thought leadership and developing strategies that inform business decisions, operational improvements, and growth initiatives.
- Promote the use of data and analytics across the organization, fostering a data-driven culture that drives business performance, optimizes processes, and enhances decision-making.
- Work closely with senior leaders across Planet Fitness to integrate data insights into key business decisions, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Leverage both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover actionable insights, utilizing advanced analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to stay ahead of emerging trends and business needs.
- Together with IT, standardize and interpret complex data from various sources, providing clear, actionable recommendations that drive strategic decision-making, improve operational performance, and maximize business outcomes.
- Establish and manage relationships with internal and external data partners and vendors, ensuring data integrity, quality, and access to best-in-class analytical tools and technologies.
- Advocate for the power of data-driven decision-making within the organization, ensuring that insights are at the forefront of strategic and operational planning.

Responsibilities
Analytics Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and driving insights that influence decision-making at all levels.
- Champion a data-driven culture throughout the organization, embedding analytics into strategic, operational, and financial planning processes.
- Drive the design and implementation of advanced analytics frameworks in collaboration with Marketing, Operations, and IT teams, including performance tracking systems, predictive models, and business intelligence tools, to measure business success and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key business drivers and ensure that insights and analytics inform critical strategic decisions across departments.
Data Management & Insights Development
- Oversee the analysis and interpretation of internal and external data, synthesizing findings into actionable insights that impact business performance and growth initiatives.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that track business performance and provide clear visibility into trends, opportunities, and risks, including enterprise-wide use of data and insights.
- Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques to identify key business patterns and predict future outcomes.
- Utilize a variety of data sources, both qualitative and quantitative, to generate deep insights that support operational improvements, innovation, and business growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with key stakeholders across Planet Fitness to ensure that data insights are aligned and integrated into all decision-making processes and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and accessibility of data tools and platforms across the organization.
- Provide strategic guidance and support for teams using data to optimize processes, improve member experience, and drive innovation.
- Translate complex data insights into clear, concise presentations for senior leadership, ensuring actionable recommendations are communicated effectively.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance the organization's ability to derive value from data.
- Lead "test and learn" initiatives to validate data-driven hypotheses and continuously evolve data analytics strategies based on business needs and industry trends.
- Promote innovation within the analytics function by exploring new data sources, research techniques, and technological advancements to stay ahead of emerging trends.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to ensure continuous growth and high-impact performance.
- Establish clear performance metrics for the Analytics & Insights team, tracking success in areas such as data quality, business insights, and project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and accountability.
- Collaborate with HRBPs and Chief Strategy Officer to identify skill gaps within the team and build a development plan to cultivate necessary talent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics); Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with 5+ years in a leadership role, managing teams and driving data-centric strategies
- Proven track record of leading large-scale analytics initiatives that have resulted in measurable business impact, including revenue growth, cost reduction, and operational optimization
- Extensive experience with data management and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, etc.)
- Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as Marketing, Finance, and Operations to integrate data insights into strategic decision-making, ideally in a franchise environment
- Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executives
- Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
- Creative, progressive, thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and drive organizational change through the use of data and insights
- Excellent leadership skills including the ability to build teams, motivate, guide, and mentor
- Possess a results-driven entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating initiative and creativity
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and organizational leadership skills
- Exhibits comfort, ease, and flexibility working in an extremely fast-paced ever-changing, deadline-driven environment
