Lead Data Architect
We are seeking a Lead Data Architect to join our Applications Development team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mexico City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. As a Lead Data Architect at Marsh, you will play a technical lead role in a team of data engineers to deliver data and analytics projects for the Wealth line of business.
We will count on you to:
- Design and Implement Best-in-Class Data Solutions: Conceptualize and execute a comprehensive and innovative data ingestion and processing framework that effectively supports our line of business.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Lead the team in developing reusable and scalable data pipelines and new API integrations to accommodate the ongoing increases in data volume and complexity.
- Collaborate with Source System Teams: Work closely with source system and application teams to integrate and establish data pipelines utilizing Databricks, S3, and other AWS services.
- Understand the Data Landscape: Gain a deep understanding of the data landscape, including tooling, tech stack, and source systems, and collaborate with extended platform teams to enhance data collection, quality, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
- Enhance Data Models: Partner with analytics and business teams to refine data models that feed business intelligence tools, improving data accessibility and promoting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Exhibit Exceptional Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they impact business productivity.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
- 3+ years of relevant Databricks, Data Ingestion/ETL/ELT, Big Data, and Data Visualizations experience.
- Strong Python development and SQL experience
- Experience with schema design and dimensional data modelling.
- Experience working on AWS or Azure and related services (not limited to) such as Glue, Athena, S3.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
