GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Advanced Healthcare Data Analysts (AHDA) bring clinical or business experience to reporting and analytics. At this level, the AHDA will independently design, build and maintain specialized analyses, reporting tasks with little supervision. The objectives at this level are advanced report writing, data validation, and end user training and education: all with minimal errors.

Incumbents report to the appropriate Data and Analytics Manager and will be assigned a focus area: Hospital/Clinics (with focus on Financial, Operational and Clinical Areas) or Health Plan within the Driscoll Health System (DHS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Positions in this class may perform any or all of the below listed duties. These should be interpreted as examples of the work, and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Bring clinical or business experience to support assigned focus area(s).
  • Generates analyses and advanced reporting solutions for the system.
  • Ability to design, build and analyze complex reports with a strong understanding of data models.
  • Establishes proper QA and data validation skills and applies this to their work.
  • Is proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, Dashboards, etc.
  • Engagement with end users: provide report training, assist with report scoping/requirements, helps generate report specifications and checklists.
  • Can build complex reports in SSRS, Crystal, Epic, Workday, or other DHS software tools.
  • Builds and distributes proper Data Visualizations for end user needs: (PowerBI, Qlik, SlicerDicer, Radar Dashboards, Excel Dashboards).
  • Assists data analysts with peer review and provides guidance on report development.
  • This position has the opportunity to advance into a Lead Advanced Healthcare Data Analyst, Data Architect or Data Scientist position.
  • Follows the Driscoll Way with communication, end user engagement, and customer service at all times.
  • Follows all guidelines for PHI and data management.
  • Performs other related work as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

  • Degree in the fields such as Finance, Statistics, Data Mining and Analytics, Clinical Analytics, or Health Care Administration with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of reporting and analytics experience or preferred degree with at least 3 years of business experience (nursing, epidemiology, health plan, etc.)
