Barbaricum is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning (AI/ML) Governance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide AI risk management, policy development, and compliance consulting across DoD AI initiatives. This role establishes a robust but agile governance structure, ensuring ethical AI adoption and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI governance frameworks aligned with industry and DoD policies.
  • Conduct market research on AI governance best practices, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Provide risk management strategies for AI model deployment and data security.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to enforce AI governance policies.
  • Monitor AI model lifecycle risks, ensuring transparency, accountability, and security.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and reside within the United States.
  • AWS certifications highly preferred; AI/ML and SEC experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of experience, or Master’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in AI Governance, Risk Management, or Policy Development.
  • Expertise in AI risk frameworks, compliance regulations, and security best practices.
  • Experience with AI model transparency, bias mitigation, and ethical AI implementation.
  • Strong background in DoD AI policies and interagency governance structures.
