About the role
We are hiring for our Data Platform team at Lightmatter! The Data Platform team is the central hub for all engineering data at Lightmatter, enabling efficient workflows and decision-making across multiple engineering verticals. Our mission is to integrate and serve data from supply chain, OSATs, and internal engineering activities—both pre- and post-silicon—to support product development and high-volume manufacturing.
As part of a small, agile team, you will work across a broad range of responsibilities, from data ingestion and governance to application development and analytics. You’ll play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying data systems that enable efficient data mining and analysis. In addition to improving product design and enhance operational efficiency.
Success in this role requires a quick learner who is not afraid to step outside their comfort zone across different layers of the technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to understand their needs and translate them into performant, efficient implementations using best-in-class data tools.
- Architect and implement end-to-end data products, including data ingestion, data modeling, and reporting.
- Contribute to in-house software frameworks for parametric results extraction from electronics and photonics components.
- Develop and enforce data governance best practices to ensure security, consistency, and accessibility.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance data discovery and integrate structured and unstructured data sources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Photonics, Data Science, or related Engineering fields
- 8+ years in data engineering and software development
- Strong expertise in SQL and working experience with Snowflake
- Advanced experience with data orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow
- Experience in data modeling
- Proficiency in Python for general software development (i.e beyond data manipulation)
- Experience with AWS Cloud services
- Able to integrate DevOps and CI/CD processes, particularly with GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Best practices in the software development lifecycle, including maintaining Development, Quality Assurance (QA), and Production environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the hardware manufacturing or semiconductor industry
- Hands-on experience with Dagster.
- Experience with serverless architectures using S3, Lambda, SNS, and SQS
- Advanced expertise with Snowflake, including data apps, data sharing, Document AI, and AI/ML features.
- Experience with DBT
We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
