Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious Associate Data Engineer to join our Data & AI team at Atlassian Williams Racing. Working within our Technology & Innovation Group, our Data Team maintains a dynamic data strategy that adds value to the business while identifying opportunities for process improvement and competitive advantage. 

Responsibilities and duties: 

  • Collaborating on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes

  • Engaging with the Data & AI team to understand requirements and implement solutions to support business needs 

  • Developing and optimising data modelling, data processing, and data storage systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security 

  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices 

  • Assisting in migrating data pipelines and data storage to the cloud and implementing cloud-based data solutions

  • Creating and maintaining data pipeline documentation, including data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides 

  • Experimenting new solution using technologies and tools to enhance your data engineering capabilities

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree level qualification in Data Engineering, AI, Computer Science or similar

  • Previous proven experience of working in an enterprise IT environment with exposure to data functions 

  • Understanding of various data storage technologies, such as relational databases, NoSQL, and object storage technologies 

  • Ability to articulate an understanding of data lifecycle principles, such as ingestion, storage, transformation, and data serving 

  • Basic understanding of a programming language, such as Python, Java 

  • Creative mindset in problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data challenges and design solutions 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for collaborating with diverse stakeholders
