SSSD has an opening for a Configuration Data Management (CDM) Restricted Programs Section Manager. This role is a dual-hat Engineering Manager, and the selected individual will be responsible for both section management (up to 20% of time) and existing program responsibilities (80% or more of time). Along with reporting into a program, the Section Manager is also a member of the Systems Engineering organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector.
This Section Manager will be the functional management point of contact at the work site for the Systems Engineering Department and will support and implement activities supporting department initiatives. This position will report directly to the Program & Configuration Control Department Manager, and it will be located in Redondo Beach, CA as a fully onsite role. *This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Perform resource planning and staffing; staff development, including skills training and career support; and performance management, including employee goal setting, annual reviews, and issues resolution.
-Deployment, measurement, and improvement of tailored processes and procedures and supporting product cost reduction strategies.
-Work with programs to review, assess, and implement requirements.
Additionally, the Section Manager should have specific domain expertise in Configuration Data Management (CDM), Software Configuration Management (SCM), or Systems Engineering, and experience throughout all phases of a program including conceptual design, design development and integration, production, sustainment process including verification.
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in Configuration Data Management, Software Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, or other relevant experience OR
-Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Configuration Data Management, Software Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, or other relevant experience OR
-PhD with 4+ years of experience in Configuration Data Management, Software Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, or other relevant experience
-Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams or project management
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active, within scope, and current U.S. Government security clearances:
-Dept. of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years at time of application and prior to start date OR
-SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Dept. of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years at time of application and prior to start date OR
-Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years at time of application and prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) discipline, Systems Engineering, Technical Management, or another related field
-Experience working in a process-oriented environment
-Working knowledge of hardware & software configuration control and defect tracking systems.
-Prior assignment manager and/or functional management experience
-Knowledge of Configuration Management industry standards; MIL-HDBK-61B, EIA-649-1, -2, etc.

Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
