Accountable for the build out of Performance Observability Automation Program for Cloud related platforms and secure cloud network connections. Implement cloud security and
risk controls while enabling platforms through application programming interfaces (APIs). Lead the production support team to ensure high availability and reliability of data services. Manage Incident, Change and Problem Management. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks. Driving Operating Efficiencies via performance improvements and implementation of automation, by deploying tools and technologies to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention. Partner with Platform Engineering & Automation team to develop, implement, and maintain observability frameworks to monitor data platforms' health and performance. Collaborate with IT, security, application development, and business teams to enhance data platform capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time.  
1.    Build and execute the Data and Analytics cloud strategy. 
2.    Partner with the CTO, CISO and other 2nd line of defense teams to implement proper security and risk related controls and frameworks across the Data & Analytics cloud and on-prem environment. Additionally collaborate with Application and platform development teams to identify opportunities for automation capabilities across EDA ecosystem
3.    Implement data governance standards, data frameworks, policies, data quality, data lineage and controls across cloud platforms and applications.
4.    Accountable to executive closure for specific Business Unit / Corporate Function (BU / CF) data & analytics audit issues, controls issues, MRAs, MRIAs, MRBAs and self identified issues related to cloud environments for Data & Analytics. 
5.    Partner with BU / CF teams to drive and execute innovation, AI / ML initiatives and generative AI foundational capabilities to transform business processes on the cloud.
6.    Build out a team based upon agile delivery to support sustainable data operations, business resiliency, execution of BU /CF priorities. Enable CIDC re-usable pipelines to be leveraged across the Data & Analytics teams.
7.    Assess the current state of cloud platforms, tools and processes to define the future state strategy aligned to the Truist enterprise cloud and security strategy. 
8.    Partner with the BU / CF organization to implement the Truist enterprise operating model for cloud, while bringing best in class industry practices to improve people, process and technology.
9.    Accountable to build out and manage the data team including the data engineers and cloud engineers for the cloud platforms. 
10.    Staying up to speed on emerging industry and technologies while bringing those new practices to Truist.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1.    Undergraduate degree in either computer science, analytics, data engineering, finance or equivalent degree
2.    At least 7 years of experience driving enterprise data strategy, data execution, data engineering or software delivery
3.    Expert problem solving skills and being able to define detailed strategies 
4.    Experience in financial services or payments industry
5.    Experience in meeting regulatory obligations and operating in a highly regulatory environment on the cloud
6.    Experience in building a high performing team

Preferred Qualifications:
1.    Master’s degree in computer science, data science, analytics, engineering, finance or equivalent degree 
2.    Experience in data architecture, solution architecture and / or designing enterprise business processes 
3.    Skills demonstrated in data engineering, computer engineering, data transformation (ETL), digital transformation and regulatory program delivery 
4.    Expert in solution designs based upon business requirements
5.    Previous director or head of engineering on the cloud
6.    Experience in building financial services technology cloud strategies
