Your Impact
The Telecom Business Intelligence Analyst (OSP & Power BI) plays a crucial role in supporting the OSP engineering team by providing data-driven insights to enhance network infrastructure projects. This role involves analyzing complex datasets, developing automated reporting solutions, and ensuring data accuracy to optimize fiber optic network design, construction, and maintenance. You will drive informed decision-making and operational efficiencies across the organization by leveraging advanced tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Excel.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Management
    - Gather and manage telecommunication data related to OSP engineering projects, including fiber route designs, permits, construction schedules, and project costs.
    - Maintain and update databases, including SharePoint repositories, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
    - Utilize Power Automate and Copilot 365 to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and workflow automation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    - Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in OSP engineering projects.
    - Build financial and commercial models to assess project outcomes and strategic implications.
    - Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards using Power BI and Advanced Excel to provide insights on project performance.
    - Present findings to engineering and management teams using visually compelling formats.
  • Auditing & Quality Assurance
    - Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy, compliance with engineering specifications, and regulatory adherence.
    - Identify and resolve discrepancies in engineering data, coordinating with relevant teams.
    - Maintain quality assurance processes to ensure reporting meets internal and external standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    - Work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align data methodologies and validate analytical outcomes.
    - Communicate insights through presentations, analyses, and interactive dashboards for senior leadership.
    - Support data governance initiatives, ensuring consistency in data definitions and metadata management.
  • Strategic Impact
    - Identify opportunities to optimize broadband infrastructure projects, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiencies.
    - Drive financial oversight on capital budget allocation, expense tracking, and cost modeling.
    - Support budget forecasting for strategic initiatives through scenario planning and data modeling.
  • Process Improvement
    - Implement automation solutions using Power Automate and Copilot 365 to improve efficiency in data collection and reporting.
    - Develop best practices for data governance, security, and consistency.
    - Continually refine and optimize reporting cycles and analytics workflows to enhance speed, accuracy, and impact.

Core Experience

  • Education & Industry Experience
    - 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles within broadband/telecom/OSP engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency
    - Power BI – Advanced skills in DAX, data modeling, and interactive dashboard creation.
    - Excel – Expert in pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and macros.
    - Power Automate & Copilot 365 – Experience automating workflows and streamlining data processes.
    - SharePoint – Proficient in managing data repositories, workflows, and team sites.
    - SQL (Preferred) – Ability to query and manipulate data in relational databases.
  •  Industry Knowledge
    - Strong understanding of broadband telecommunications and OSP engineering, including:
    - Fiber optic networks
    - Construction schedules
    - Permitting processes
    - Technical and financial project metrics
  • Soft Skills
    - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    - Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
    - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
  • Work Hours
    - Flexible Schedule: Core responsibilities require availability during business hours for key meetings and deliverables, but flexibility is provided based on project needs.

      Compensation: $40 hourly/ DOE
