Data Architect| Remote| FT| Permanent| Salary DOE+ Comprehensive Benefits

We are now looking for Data Architect to join our existing team. In this role you will be an instrumental leader in driving transformational change across the organisation through the development and management of our data platform and capabilities. You will work across multiple projects and business units, playing a critical role in the successful modelling, analytics and reporting of data across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining end-to-end data architecture that leverages Microsoft Fabric Services.
  • Creating and overseeing the generation of logical data models to represent critical business entities working alongside data modellers and engineers to translate these into optimised physical data models.
  • Designing, building and optimising reusable data pipelines for ingestion from diverse source systems (on-prem, cloud, third party) and design effective ELT/ETL transformation to prepare data for analytics and reporting.
  • Ensuring all data solutions comply with UK healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining high levels of data privacy and security
  • Overseeing the implementation of data solutions, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and of high quality. Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring best practices and adherence to architectural principles.
  • Creating detailed documentation for data processing and models and provide training to relevant stakeholders to ensure proper understanding and usage.
  • Collaborating with business units, project teams, and external stakeholders to understand requirements and provide effective solutions. Coordinate with the stakeholders to report on value stream progress and benefits realization, contributing to the delivery of strategic OKRs.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools that align with Spire’s strategic goals and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensuring and enforcing the use of architectural governance frameworks, policies, and standards throughout the lifecycle of data solution creation and delivery and represent assigned value streams at governance forums, planning events and other forums to provide alignment, consistency and effective governance
  • Collaboratively developing the value stream roadmap, incorporating insights from stakeholders, SMO and incorporating value stream plans into our wider strategic technology roadmap.

Key Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in data engineering, BI, or database architecture roles ideally within a healthcare environment.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and environments.
  • Demonstrated track record designing end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft platforms (Fabric, Azure, SQL Server, Power BI).
  • Experience with data integration patterns (e.g., batch ETL, real-time streaming, event-driven).
  • Ability to design unified, reusable logical models that can serve both analytics and integration use cases.
  • Understanding and experience applying master data management (MDM) principles, data quality frameworks and data governance best practices.
  • Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a regulated environment.
