As a Data Analytics Intern, you will help us build on our successful internship program and:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of how CARFAX works, both internally and from our customers’ perspective.
  • Support multiple projects and analyses throughout the Business Development and data teams, such as enhancing automotive data products, conducting data coverage analyses, and reviewing consumer/dealer ecosystems.
  • Assist team members with projects and other various tasks as assigned.
  • Review data for quality and accuracy, correcting any errors you find.
  • Perform research and data analysis, pulling information from multiple sources, identifying patterns, and summarizing findings.
  • Build upon current tools and processes to identify and research opportunities for improvement.
 
At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 4 days per week in our Centreville, VA office, subject to change with future business needs.

Requirements: 
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in a business or technical major at an accredited university.
  • Sound time management and organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of R, Python and data visualization tools is preferred.
  • A willingness to jump in, learn, and lend a hand; an outstanding work ethic (timeliness, responsiveness, etc.).

  • Passionate about solving problems, turning information into insights, and resourcefulness.
  • Intellectually curious – challenge assumptions, question the status quo, desire to understand the underlying dynamics beneath a trend.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data analysis into an easily understandable summary.
  • Experience with analytical platforms and query languages.
