The Position

We are looking for an outstanding computational biologist in spatial and single cell transcriptomics to join our mission to identify novel therapies for our patients through computational analysis of highly complex data. As a Scientist in the Computational Innovation (CI) department, you will work on projects reaching across several of our therapeutic areas. You will work in a team focusing on Cardio-Renal-Metabolic diseases including regulatory circuits in the brain, and initial projects will be in this setting. Our internal facilities utilize the VisiumHD platform as well as imaging-based platforms and you will be working closely with teams generating new data, and with external and collaborator data. You will use state-of-the-art computational methods to analyse spatio-cellular data, supporting the understanding of disease biology and innovative target identification. Embedded in Boehringer Ingelheim’s growing CI department, you will have an impact on Research & Development, actively contributing to the discovery of breakthrough therapies that will improve patient lives.

This position can be filled in Biberach.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will apply state-of-the-art methods to analyse and integrate spatial and single cell transcriptomics data with the aim to identify relevant disease processes and answer research questions in different settings.
  • With a group of experts and in close collaboration with our Data & Infrastructure team you will contribute to processing, quality control and annotation workflows for spatio-cellular data to ensure the highest quality standards in our FAIR data foundations.
  • Moreover, you will present analysis results to your project team members and to stakeholders.
  • Additionally, you will support our capability development by testing, documenting and discussing new methods and workflows in our scientific community.
