The Corrections Intelligence Group (CIG) provides high level intelligence support to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) stakeholders and various law enforcement agencies. Intelligence products disseminated by the CIG assist with decision making processes around the management of offenders in custody and under community corrections supervision. The Intelligence Support Officer undertakes a range of intelligence based administrative / clerical services to support stakeholders involved in the management of offenders in custody and under community corrections supervision.
Your role
The Data Analyst Assistant role will provide support to the Data Analyst and unit in providing timely and accurate analysis of statistical data, which support operational and strategic objectives of Security and Intelligence. Day to day tasks will include:
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of statistical data by developing reporting systems
- Maintaining data dashboards
- Responding to data requests from within the agency in a timely manner
- Manage and retrieve data from internal systems for the purpose of maintaining and producing reporting requirements
- Maintain communication with key stakeholders and information users
- Translate analytical and business findings into meaningful and actionable insights
What we’re looking for
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competition priorities
- Maintain professional relationships with key operations areas
- Work autonomously and within a team environment when required
- Prioritise work requirements with short timeframes and quality standards and responding to often complex data requests
- Experience with extraction, management, manipulation and reporting of statistical data using software such as SQL, SPSS, SAS, Excel and MS Access
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to effectively communicate findings and insights
